Midnight-Scene Rules

* Do not defy the Moderators expressed wishes!
* Please read the FAQ and the forums before asking any questions!
* Do not upload our torrents to other trackers! (See the FAQ for details.)
* Disruptive behaviour in the forums or in the shoutbox will result in a warning.
* PMing 1 staff member on an issue is enough. For urgent problems please use the helpdesk instead.
* No more than 1 account per IP!

By forums, we don't mean just the forums, but any place accessible to all members (comments, Shoutbox, and so on).  

* No hit warning questions in the forums.
* No aggressive behaviour or flaming in the forum.
* No trashing of other people's topics (i.e. SPAM).
* No language other than English in the forums.
* No systematic foul language (and none at all on titles).
* No links to warez or crack sites in the forums.
* No mentioning other torrent sites (except VIP board).
* No requesting or posting of serials, CD keys, passwords or cracks in the forums.
* No double posting. If you wish to post again, and yours is the last post in the thread please use the EDIT function, instead of posting a double.
* Please ensure all topics are posted in the correct section!
* Last, please read the FAQ and search the forums before asking any questions!

* From time to time we will have freeleech for 48 hours. This means that when you download from site it will not count against your download ratio.
* Whatever you seed back will add to your upload ratio.
* This is a good opportunity for members with ratio's below 1.0 to bring them back over 1:1.
* Site seeding rules apply.  Seed for 36 hours after completion OR to 0.8 ratio.

By not following these rules, you will lose download privileges!

* Low ratios will result in severe consequences, including banning in extreme cases.
* Torrents downloaded must be seeded back to a ratio of 0.8 if possible or for 36 hours, whichever comes first. (Not following this rule will result in a Hit and Run warning. See Official Hit Warning Guide for more info).
* You must have legal rights to the file you are downloading.

Torrents violating these rules may be deleted without notice

* You must apply to be an Uploader. Requirements are, you must  be an Afternoon User with a clean hit record and no disciplinary warnings. Please supply a SpeedTest with your application.

* NFO's are optional, if you provide a proper description.
* All files must be in original format (usually 14.3 MB RARs).
* If release is scene or by a p2p group, do not alter or otherwise change file name, except to add or remove tracker names for directory listings.
* Make sure not to include any serial numbers, CD keys or similar in the description (you do not need to edit the NFO!).
* No Torrents depicting child porn or beastiality.
* Only tag torrent with your "personal" tag or name if you are the release group, ripper, cracker, etc.
* Make sure your torrents are well-seeded for at least 24 hours (or have at least several seeders).
* Do not include the release date in the torrent name.
* Stay active! You risk being demoted if you have no active torrents.
* Dead (0 seeders / 0 leechers) torrents are automatically removed after 3 days.
* All Uploaders must maintain a minimum of 1 upload per week or risk being demoted.(Please inform staff if unable too for any period over stated)
* It's encouraged but not required for all Uploaders to make themselves available in IRC #uppers chan

* NO filesharing
* NO requesting or offering cracks, serials, keygens, etc
* NO creating channels without permission from staff
* Abusive or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated!
* NO spam or advertising .:. this includes excessive use of 'now playing' scripts.
* No hit warning questions in the main channels (There's #help for that).

Requests violating these rules may be deleted without notice

* Do NOT request things that are not released yet (or immediately after they've been released).
* Do NOT request something that's already on site - Search the torrents first.
* Do NOT request something that's already requested - Search the requests first and vote for it.
* The request section is not for re-seed requests - Use the "request reseed" button on the torrent details when all seeders stopped.
* Properly name your requests, the name & description should make clear what you want.
* Requests are automatically deleted after 1 month.
* Don't put random crap in 1 request to save karma.

Please try to follow these guidelines:

* The allowed formats are .gif, .jpg and .png.
* Only images of 150 px and a size of no more than 50 KB should be used. (Browsers will rescale them anyway: smaller images will be expanded and will not look good; larger images will just waste bandwidth and CPU cycles)
* Do not use potentially offensive material involving porn, religious material, animal / human cruelty or ideologically charged images. Mods have wide discretion on what is acceptable. If in doubt PM one.

How do I get karma points ?
* Posting on forums gains 1 point per post (not in forum games!)
* starting a thread gains 2 points
* Filling a request gains 10 points
* Rating a torrent gains 1 points
* Thank-you's gain 2 points
* Comments on a torrent gain 3 points
* Uploading a torrent gains 15 points
* Seeding gains you about .5 points per torrent for every hour you seed it. (max 5 torrents)
* IRC Idle Bonus (Check the FAQ for amounts)

How do I lose karma points ?
* Misbehavior of any kind can make staff decide to remove karma points.
* If something not explicitly named here that gained you karma points is removed, the corresponding points are removed as well.
* If a comment is removed, you'll lose 6 points. ('thanks' and the sorts , are said with the thankyou button - no need for a comment)
* If a request is unfilled, when you've filled it, you'll lose 15 points.
* If your post gets deleted from forum games, you'll lose 1 point.
(Removals don't include automated system removals)
* Begging for karma in forums, on ShoutBox or IRC will result in you losing all your current karma points for the first offense and banning on the second offense.

What can I do with karma points?
Check your karma bonus page, click on the number after 'Bonus: ' in the header menu.

* Have fun!  GG keeps this radio going for the members of the best torrent community ever!  The main reason is for fun.

* The standard set is 2 hours.  As we have no set schedule, please respect other DJ's.  If you have been DJ'ing at least 2 hours and someone requests the air, try to end your show within 30 minutes, out of courtesy, or work out another ending time with the other DJ.

Be respectful when requesting the DJ slot. To make it simple, use the bot's request feature.  !Request DJ Spot. Please note the DJ has at least 30 minutes to pass over to you (if they've been on 2 hours). Otherwise they can finish their 2 hour slot.

* Try to use the style tag so that others know what to expect from your show.  If it's random, state that. (!setdj nick STYLE)

* No bashing what the DJ plays. If you don't like, then don't listen.

* Warn listeners of <censored> material in case young children are around.  

* Be polite to other DJ's and members in our irc chat.  As a DJ, you represent our community.  I have allowed you to DJ because I believe you have what it takes.  Don't disappoint me.

* If you have a problem with a rule or another DJ, please contact staff.  No pissing matches in midnight-radio or especially main channel.  

* Use your site and/or irc nick for DJ'ing... or close to it.  No offensive DJ names or any used to insult others.

* Minimum bitrate of 128kbps, preferred 192.  And please use stereo.

* You must be at the pc when you DJ.  Up to 15 minutes at a time is allowed for bathroom, food, drink, smoke, w/e... but you should be responding to inquiries asap when back.  We don't allow ghost dj'ing here.
